Living Life Together- Inspiration #1

The coffee was hot and fresh and smelled good. Cup in hand, I proceeded to my home office and switched on the dim desk lamp. On my laptop keyboard was the note: “I love you,” strategically placed there by my granddaughter before she left my house the night before. Her note did more than melt my heart—it reminded me of the power in our words.

Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. Proverbs 16:24 (NIV)

Either hand written, typed, or spoken, our words have an effect on the people around us. My granddaughter’s note to me started my day off on a sweet note. Who can you leave a note for today? Who needs to be texted an encouraging word? A life-changing word?

This spring a group of us were meeting for Bible study when we got the idea to text an uplifting message. One young women texted her husband. Within five-minutes he replied, “You have no idea how much I needed to hear that.”

A kind word cheers a person up. Proverbs 12:25 (NIV)

There’s power in our words. How will you use your power today?

The mouth of the righteous is the fountain of life. Proverbs 10:11 (NIV)
